Art to me is special ... a passion and a purpose. The miraculous is all around us. Treasures lie at our feet, bend in the wind above our heads, and unfurl stems at our kneecaps. Usually, we walk right by without seeing them. Every painting, abstract or impressionist, is an attempt to say "Stop! Look at this...no, really, take a moment and just look!"
I have loved art since I was child, but my family insisted that I follow a different direction … one that would ensure a "successful" career and a steady income. Art materials were put away, education became the focus, and eventually my "corporate life" took over.
Years passed, but Sandy’s passion for art never did.
Now retired, I am excited to at last have "free time" to enjoy the luxury of spending most of my time developing as an artist. I am currently experimenting with various subject matter using watercolour and acrylics, and exploring various genres including abstract compositions, landscapes, florals with a foray into realism.
So far, my paintings have found permanent homes in Canada and the U.S.A.
